Yesterday's story will continue at a later date. For now, here's this:
At the beginning of time, there was an ultimate challenge put forth by the Great Creators. But that challenge was not undaunted by the spirits of the Past Lords. These great and mighty men challenged the Creators to their own challenge. The winners would inherit the earth. The losers would be banished to legend. The challenge began as kittens rained from the sky. The Past Lords were quite accustomed to sky kittens and easily blended them into cerberus. The Great Creators were bewildered as the kittens bonked on their heads. Though they had created the challenge, it appeared they could not tame it.
The challenge continued for 468 rounds. Rickets, rickshaws, and Randalfs were beheld. Rice patties were made, faces were recognized, moose antlers were battled. Still the Past Lords prevailed. Until challenge 469. Luckily, 469 was a round worth 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 points. If the Great Creators won this round, it would put them one point ahead. Then they would simply have to win every one of the 342 remaining rounds and victory would be theirs! It started well enough when the Great Creators began to lick the yogurt off of the wall of infinity. But the Past Lords licked with greater ferocity. The jury was watching them closely and the Great Creators knew they were close to rendering a verdict in the opponent's favor. But they suddenly realized there was a loophole in the rules they had written for just such an occasion!
One of the Creators boomed, "I have a blueberry pastry!" The jury gasped. This had not been considered. Of course he was lying, but nobody knew that. And so the Great Creators won the round.
"There is no way we can win a minimum of one of the next 342 rounds," said one of the Past Lords, "It is over." The Past Lords gave in and the Great Creators were victorious. As it turned out, inheriting the earth was a pretty crappy prize and becoming legendary was much more awesome. The Great Creators regretted this victory to the end of days.
